ABOUT OUR TILES
To determine if a collection is Porcelain Body (PB) or White Body (WB), it is necessary to review its technical specifications.
This information is available on the website within each collection, as well as in the catalog of each collection through the icons ‘W’ (White Body) and ‘P’ (Porcelain Body) next to the collection breakdown.
The main difference between PB and WB is water absorption. PB is less porous, which makes its water absorption below 0.5%, making it ideal for humid areas and exteriors.
WB, on the other hand, has higher water absorption, generally between 10-20%, which makes it more suitable for indoor areas, although it can also be used in wet areas (bathrooms, showers, etc.)
WB ceramic can be used on any interior wall (including shower or bathtub walls). It is not recommended for exteriors, especially in frost-prone areas.
PB ceramic is extremely versatile and can be installed on both interior and exterior walls and floors. It is suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, patios, facades, and swimming pools due to its low water absorption and high resistance.
There are PB products that should not be installed on floors due to their delicacy, such as metallic or special glazes with low scratch resistance.
This is the case with the glossy colors of Roots and Abbey Stone.
Both types of ceramic, PB and WB, can be used in residential and commercial applications. However, PB is more recommended for high-traffic areas or exposure to severe conditions due to its durability and low water absorption.
PB ceramic can be used on both walls and floors, while WB is more commonly used on walls.
Ceramic maintenance involves regular cleaning with water and mild detergents.
For tough stains, specific ceramic cleaners can be used, avoiding abrasive products that may damage the surface.
The type of grout depends on the color and type of installation.
It is recommended to use high-quality grout, preferably with antimicrobial properties for humid areas.
We recommend brands such as Kerakoll (Fugabella colors), Litokol, and Mapei.
Generally, yes. PB is suitable for use inside pools due to its low water absorption and high resistance.
However, it is not recommended for the pool edge as it is not an anti-slip product.
Ceramics that do not resist chemicals like chlorine should not be used either.
This is the case with the glossy colors of Roots and Abbey Stone.
The term “Wellness” is not a specific type of ceramic but rather a concept that includes various ceramic collections designed to create wellness spaces such as spas, pools, saunas, and relaxation areas.
PB refers to the material with which a collection is made.
The installation of PB is similar to any traditional ceramic tile. You just need to ensure you use adhesives and grouts specific for PB.
Generally, there are three standardized values indicating how non-slip a ceramic tile is: R, Class, and DCOF (example: R10, Class 3, and DCOF 0.51).
The higher the number, the more non-slip the product is.
All WOW products are stain-resistant.
There are only certain exceptions where you should avoid exposing the product to acidic substances (like lemon).
These cases are very rare and generally involve metallic finishes.
